Conditioner is an important part of hair care. It restores moisture after shampooing, helps hair to be manageable, smooth and tangle-free and makes it shine. However, conditioners can be quite expensive. Making one with ingredients you can find in your kitchen is instead very cheap and easy. Here’s a few recipes for you to try:
1. Tropical Conditioner
– 1 peeled and mashed avocado
– 1 cup of coconut milk
Combine the ingredients together and mash until the mixture is smooth and thick. Comb it through hair and wait about 10-15 minutes, then rinse off.
2. Rosemary Conditioner
– a few drops of rosemary essential oil
Pour a few drops of rosemary essential oil on your hands and apply throughout your hair.
3. Deep Conditioner
– 1 small jar of organic mayonnaise (make sure to use mayonnaise and not salad dressing as that could dry your hair out)
– 1/2 avocado
Put the ingredients in a bowl and, using your hands, squish until the mixture becomes minty green in colour.
Apply throughout your hair.
Wrap your hair in a saran wrap (or just put on a shower cap) and then put a damp hot towel around the wrap. Wait about 20 minutes.
Lightly shampoo and rinse off.
