5 Natural ways to remove dark circles completely

Dark circles under the eyes can be a nuisance and they certainly are a big problem for a lot of different people. They can appear at an early age, although it is usually common for older people. No matter the age, men and women alike do not feel happy about this problem. This kind of problem affects one’s appearance more significantly than for example grey hair or wrinkles.

They are not a serious skin problem, but they make people look tired, unhealthy and older. Dark circles appear for different reasons and a sleepless night is just one of them. Other reasons may be genetics, allergies, dehydration, eye rubbing, water retention and various medical conditions.
There are plenty of cosmetic products designed to reduce the appearance of dark circles, but many of them contain chemicals that may harm the skin, and most of them are not very cheap.So in order to help you decide on a cheaper and natural way to fight dark circles, here are a few remedies I recommend, that are easy to apply if you follow some simple steps. The ingredients you will need are inexpensive and easy to find, just follow one of the remedies below and you will get rid of the dark circles standing in the way of your perfect look.

1. Crushed mint leaves
Mint leaves are a very efficient mean to fight dark circles in a natural way. You need to apply crushed mint leaves over your eyes. It will soothe your eyes and also will make dark circles disappear. You will need five to six mint leaves, crush them and then apply them around your eyes and keep them there for about 5 or 10 minutes. After this, wipe it off with a clean and cold cloth. Be very careful while doing this, because you are contacting with a very sensitive area. The mint leaves will create a cool, tingling sensation, and will increase circulation. This remedy will help you relax and also will gradually remove the dark circles from under your eyes. You may also use a paste made out of mint leaves and tomato juice and apply it on the affected area; after a few minutes wash the area properly with cold water.

2. Raw potato
Potatoes are rich in vitamins, contain natural bleaching agents and they can be a great help in lightening the dark circles. They can also remove puffiness around the eyes. Potatoes refresh and soften the complexion and are good for any type of skin. In order to extract the juice from the potatoes, take one or two chilled potatoes and grate them well. Then moisten two cotton balls in the juice and put them on your closed eyes. They should cover the eyelids and the dark circles. Keep them for up to 10 or 15 minutes and then rinse well with cool water. Repeat the procedure once or twice daily for 2-3 weeks to see good results. This procedure may also be done using sliced thick potatoes or potato puree. Or you could also mix potato juice with olive oil and apply regularly on the dark circles.

3. Rosewater
Rose water has antioxidant properties and contains vitamins A and C, it is widely used in cosmetic products and can work wonders for your skin. Rose water restores the skin’s pH balance to reduce excessive pigmentation; it revives and rejuvenates the skin making it look healthier and more radiant. It is an efficient remedy against irritation, redness and inflammation of eyes. You will need two cotton eye pads, soak them in rose water and apply them to your eyes. Keep them on for about 10 to 15 minutes then rinse with cool water and pat dry. For best results use this remedy twice daily during a few weeks. Rose water will not only get you rid of dark circles, it will also soothe and hydrate your skin as well as keep it healthy by strengthening the immune system. So, by using rose water you can forget about dark circles once and for all.

4. Milk cream
If you have no eye cream, you could use some cold milk to remove dark circles. Milk contains lactic acid that is useful for softening and moisturizing the skin under the eyes. Milk also has proteins, enzymes, amino acids and antioxidants that are needed in order to strengthen and heal damaged skin. You can massage with your ring finger the eye area with milk cream before going to bed. This will moisturize and will improve the condition of the skin. You can also use milk as a cold compress to remove dark circles and to reduce eye puffiness. For this you will need to soak two cotton balls in cold milk and then hold them under your eyes until they are get warm. You need to follow the remedy three or four times during a few weeks and you will finally get rid of the unwanted dark circles under your eyes.

5. Almond oil
Almond oil is also a very effective mean to lighten the color of your skin around the eyes. It is rich in vitamins and minerals which nourish and rejuvenate delicate skin, also keeping it moisturized. If you use almond oil regularly it will lighten the skin under your eyes and will make the dark circles disappear. Every night before going to bed use a few drops of almond oil to massage lightly the delicate skin under your eyes. Keep it on overnight and wash it off in the morning with cold water. Follow this procedure daily until the dark circles are gone. Alternatively, you can mix five to six drops of almond oil with a tablespoon of raw honey. You will need to apply it carefully on the skin under the eyes and leave it there overnight. In the morning wash it with lukewarm water. Repeat daily until you get the results you need.
