Let’s face it, as we get older, our skin doesn’t bounce back like it used to. Hormonal breakouts can be painful. They may last more than a week. Sometimes, they can even leave a scar behind. How can we prevent all of this from happening?
How to Deal with Period Breakouts
In Chinese medicine, breakouts on the chin are associated with our ovaries. If you pay close attention to your breakouts, you might notice it changes side to side each month. That’s because only one ovary ovulates per month before our cycle starts. Pay attention to your breakouts. Do they usually switch between either side of your chin each month? The influx of hormones can cause a breakout. The most important tip I can give you:

Picking at your breakouts can cause hyperpigmentation or scarring. Especially because we get a slower healing process with adult acne. Teenagers, on the other hand, have a faster healing time.
Instead of picking at your breakouts, try applying a spot treatment after exfoliating.

Salicylic Acid, to combat excess oils
Lactic Acid, to brighten up the skin
