Tips for Flawless Lipstick

There are a few things to keep in mind for flawless lipstick. But before you can even put the lipstick on, you must exfoliate your lips. Exfoliated lips will lay the perfect foundation for smooth lipstick application.  I personally love Laura Gellar’s Lip Strip to exfoliate my lips. However, you can make your own lip scrub at home also.

After exfoliating your lips, its important to moisturize them. I personally like to use Jack Black’s Intense Lip Therapy to hydrate them. It dries matte so lipstick glides on easily.

Alright so your lips are exfoliated and hydrated, but hows the area around your lips? If you’re going to be rocking flawless lips, that upper lip better be hair free! You can get a lip wax at your local Benefit Brow Bar for only 7 bucks. I recommend them because you’ll be guaranteed a licensed professional.

So your lips are smooth and your virtually mustache free! Now you’re ready for flawless lipstick.

It’s very important to always line your lips to define them. Take this tip from me: I have very thin lips. However, when I line them with my favorite Mac lip liner, they really pop. It’s easy to tell in my YouTube Channel. It’s so obvious when I line my lips and when I don’t. The key with lip liner is to stick to a lip liner that is very nude. You want something that matches your lips. If you go too dark, you risk looking like a chola. I’m a professional makeup artist and don’t even match my lip liners to lipstick. Instead, I match them to my lips. This makes one lip liner pencil universal.

After lining your lips, its important to apply lipstick with a lip brush! This will make a world of difference. You’ll get a more even coat.

Finally, blot you lipstick gently with tissue.

If your lips are exfoliated, groomed, lined and filled with a lip brush, I promise your lipstick will look flawless. It will also last much longer. I hope you all liked these tips for flawless lipstick! Stay beautiful.
